THE DEMISE OF LOGIC, SANITY AND INNOCENCE: PART 2.

The degeneration of logic, sanity and innocence has caused enormous chasms in the smooth configuration of normal life and in this chapter we cite three more logic deficient frustrations which society appears unwilling or unable to cope with.

Recent years have taught us a great deal concerning the seasoning that can be cultivated within the meaning of words, in particular words that have been used by this administration to promote its agenda, while purporting to provide up front truth for the matter under review. The word “Victory” comes to mind along with its mirror image “Mission Accomplished”, words which were punctuated by the infamous and absurd farce of this President masquerading as a fighter pilot while emerging triumphantly from a passenger seat. It was not, however, totally illogical to use the word Victory in that context, since there was the appearance of a victorious military conclusion in the classic sense of the word, though far from the absolute Victories achieved by Generals MacArthur or Eisenhower.

Years have elapsed since the carrier embarrassment and the word Victory nevertheless continues to be uttered as if it had not been used in the first instance. We are therefore compelled to assume that, having previously achieved victory, the war we are now fighting must be a new undeclared war, one that began seamlessly as the original was being presumptuously terminated.

Logic might suggest to the White House occupants and their many compliable Senators that, for historical purposes, the current conflict in Iraq cannot have victory as its objective, since that has already been certified. A new desirable objective should now logically be targeted, a word more in keeping with current conditions, a word that is seldom heard in the White House, and that word is PEACE. This word, regretfully, was assumed by the White House intellectually sterile proponents of war to be an automatic reward for victory, while forgetting or ignoring potential recriminations based on the legendary actions of the invaded French in World War II, with an underground movement known as “La Resistance”.

It has become increasingly evident to a strong majority of caring people that the inevitable process for peace in Iraq is to get the uninvited mercenaries and their accompanying armies out of the cities and off the streets and highways, as a preliminary step to getting back to their homes and families where they belong, and let some of the world’s oldest societies find their own ways to deal with their problems which have plagued them off and on for close to fourteen hundred years. These problems will not be solved by the administration’s retinue of successive imperious generals and bands of undisciplined enforcers.

Even in a civil war, the militant factions of Iraq would be unlikely to be the cause of more deaths in the future than have been directly or indirectly caused by Americans to date. One thing is clear. The Iraqi could do no worse than we have been shown by the imported brains that have supervised the creation of the current insanity, and we ask, where is the logic in expecting that the willing perpetrators of such an incomprehensible disaster could possibly find sufficient resolve and wisdom to contain this inferno, which they have themselves kindled and fanned to ashes?

I
n 1789 a Second Amendment was added to the U.S. constitution after considerable debate and fine-tuning. The context of the times was that the leaders of the individual States realized that a strong central government was essential to the peaceful governance of this newly formed nation, and it needed to be supported by a strong military. Each State then had its own “Militia” which was a cross between the State police of today and the National Guard, and problems kept flaring up between States though kept reasonably in check. It was agreed to form a strong military backed central Government and the second amendment was enacted for the express purpose of ensuring that each State would maintain its legal right to defend its territory against a possible intrusion by any radicalized future central government. It reads as follows:

A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.”

That is all of it. There is nothing else.
The Gun addicted aficionados of the U.S., ably supported by the gun Barons who make them and their well-heeled lobbyists and scruple-less lawyers, have for years read and interpreted the words of the Second Amendment in a manner clearly unlike the meaning and intent of the legislators. These warped minds specifically dispel the comma after the word “State” and substitute a period for their purposes, hoping that no one will notice, and ignoring grammatical correctness, they then read this amendment as having two separate sentences, but that is not how it was written or intended. They further interpret the words,” the right of the people” as the right of citizens or the right of individuals or the right of people, which is false. “The People” is a term universally recognized as denoting an assembly of persons, of individuals, in a common cause or regulated assembly, and that was the intent.

What was surely not the amendment’s intent was to give individuals the right to play a “defensive” role against a central government, as was the case in the assassinations of Abraham Lincoln, John Kennedy, and the attempts on Ronald Reagan and Gerald Ford, or for that matter the elimination of individuals of any age that they do not agree with. Nothing in the amendment prevents today’s legislators from ruling on any conditions to be imposed on citizens to possess arms, or the types, of arms that can be sold to them.

Legislators are motivated in a number of ways: Election concerns, political affiliation, social and moral conscience, religious concerns, personal gain, intimidation and gutlessness. We will leave it to readers to select the reasons why their legislators have avoided their obligation for the strengthening of gun regulations in the face of the growing evidence of its urgency.

The world may eventually come to a sordid end, but there is every reason to believe that humans will be spared the experience since all human life may by then have self-exterminated carrying with it much of animal life as well. For billions of years earth has managed to survive, while passing through assorted whims of nature and supporting and destroying many of life’s numerous experiments, but man has seriously interfered with nature’s normalcy and we are beginning to see and live the dawning of earth’s ominous response.

We have taken from the earth its combustible materials and consciously transformed them into poisonous polluting gasses, which have risen to the top of the world and hang above us as a modern day “Sword of Damocles”. We have compromised our breath of life and created a fatal imbalance in the higher reaches of earth’s atmospheric protective shield, and humanity’s penalty may render redundant its historical tradition of massive self-mutilation.

Coal is the major atmospheric pollutant, but since its use is utilitarian and it is under industrial control, there is little that individual users can contribute. Gasoline is the next prime offender representing 20% of all oil production usage worldwide with jet fuel accounting for another 5%. Of the 85 million barrels of oil produced daily in the world, 21 million are used in the United States, incredibly, a number which equals the next 6 users combined, and 45% of the U.S. oil is converted into gasoline, the second most dominant source of atmospheric pollution. These disproportionate figures indicate that close to half the earth’s atmospheric pollution through the burning of gasoline, originates in the U.S. but in this case, some self-satisfying options are available to caring and conscientious citizens.

It is simplistically evident that automobiles of lesser weight can operate with smaller engines and thereby consume less carburant. Logic in this case hits an impenetrable wall. The American notorious obsession with anything that is bigger and stronger found willing allies in the U.S. auto industry and unwavering support in the oil industry whose executives have their own lockers at the White House. By common consent gas-guzzlers became the “vehicle du jour”, and any young man who did not conform had better possess other attributes to confirm his masculinity.

Avoiding an overflow of technical details we would however make the point that the truck industry benefits from the development of automatic transmissions with up to 20 speeds, which makes it possible to propel a mastodonic vehicle at extended highway speeds, using engines barely larger than that of a high-end American sedan or SUV. Logic would suggest that considerable reduction in the use of petrol could be realized by the use of small engines coupled to a transmission with a much greater number of speeds, without reducing the American buyer’s cherished size preference. It is a compromise surely worthy of a trial.

Recently, a small step was taken by raising the available speeds to 6 in some cars, but before rejoicing at these companies’ newly found sense of responsibility, it should be noted that even these cars are being tuned and marketed for greater performance with no compromise on power, and not for any improved gas mileage. Currently America uses 21 million barrels of oil per day but produces barely 9 million. The reduction of this oil dependency factor, is a most desirable political objective for the U.S. and this plan could potentially close the gap by perhaps 4 million barrels a day, and coupled with important planned production increases in the friendly confines of the Alberta tar sands, it is conceivable that the U.S. could close in on oil independence, while simultaneously advancing the environmental cause.

THE DEMISE OF LOGIC, SANITY, AND INNOCENCE.– PART 1

Posted on August 22nd, 2007 in Uncategorized | Comments Off

Logic as a science has its roots in the early history of some founding types of societies such as India, China and Greece but there really wasn’t that much to be logical about in those early times. If you knew how to build a building that stood still for a while or were able to reason with people without starting a war, that was about as good as you would need.

Medieval thinkers tried to ratchet it up a notch and left us with a large number of books to read, few of which can be of much help today in avoiding daily aggravations and tribulations. We now navigate in a world strewn with the need to arrive at quick and firm decisions concerning a vast array of problems and concerns, including our own daily survival and pleasures.

Early in life, bambinos rationalize that mamma is the soft touch when there is a need or a desire, and dad must be listened to because he is bigger than everyone else, and has a big voice. This is natural, practical logic, a kind of street logic in a way, but it is really the only logic we really need. Academic logic tells us that if x occurs, then expect y to follow, and financial analysts do their thing on companies they know, and then conclude that this stock should be bought because their logic suggests that it should rise in value, but it doesn’t always, as we all know. Logic is probably the most worthy of all human mental attributes, but it is however highly suspect when it emerges from the minds and emotions of subjective people, the requirement of objectivity being an essential ingredient.

Consistent deviants from straight and true logic impart the appearance of having a serious sanity problem, as they distort logic in such a manner as to create for others an impression of perverse rationalization, or so it appears to people whose logic always seems to lead to the right answers. Other participants in this expose of mind orientations are the people who seldom engage in logical rationalization, having adopted an attitude of “what will be, will be”, and are content to “ride with the flow” in an area which is often referred to as the “moderate middle”, where the innocents of the world seek safe harbor.

When rationalizing this subject matter, the disappearance of logic, sanity and innocence from our society’s fiber, we naturally look for explicit examples of their being AWOL, particularly in areas where it is considered important for logic to be ingrained, and this leads us to consider the vagaries of everybody’s friend, Gunk Gonzales, the esteemed Attorney General. We have here a man who is totally devoid of integrity values, a factor most appreciated by G.W. Bush, and logic leads us to ask ourselves whether the cart in this case is not preceding the horse.

Whose agenda is being followed in domestic matters and why? It seems fairly evident that the Administration’s policies point to a strong pro illegal immigration bias along a wide front, with little consideration given to the American people’s stated preferences. Are these the policies of an American President or are they being generated by this sick mind whose genealogy is deeply rooted in the offending side? Could it be that G.W.’s self-declared legendary loyalty to his long term associates has more to do with the knowledge that they possess concerning his own tainted past? There is a word for that isn’t there? Is this idle speculation or is it instead a very logical perception? “Gonzo” has been part of G.W. Bush’s shadow for 14 years and knows intimately every fine details of every nefarious scheme that has lodged in the perverse brain of a man who has cross-pollinated deceit over the greater part of the world. Rummaging through our observations concerning this godforsaken administration, we have to ponder:” Where is the sanity? Where is the innocence?”

For those of us who believe that there is a God and that includes almost everyone that has lived, as we seek to reach out to him we have been conditioned to believe that this cannot be achieved directly, that we must use the good offices of a Religion, an organization exclusively dedicated to this purpose. They in turn, most often rely on a single individual, a prophet, who has claimed a personal relationship with God or his favorite Angel, and is therefore ably suited to intervene on their own as well as our behalf.

Though clear logic is difficult to locate in the foregoing, we are expected to overcome our apprehensions and enter a special dimension called “Faith”, a mental state where strong beliefs are based on the absence of evidence. Individuals who are tempted to apply rules of logic may do so by reducing the number of blind faiths involved, from 3 to 1, and believe firmly and directly in a God to whom they can in fact attribute characteristics of their choosing. They may even adopt a new identity as “Disciples of God” and I am sure that God himself will genuinely appreciate the personal touch.

The Catholic Church is well intentioned and in the annals of history, no other organization has been more beneficial to human kind. However, there seems to be a serious problem in reconciling logic with dogma. Their prophet, the peace advocate champion of all times, a man that saw good in poverty and condemned the proud, the wealthy and the hypocrites, this universal idol is served by Catholic leaders, in a resplendent aura of pomp, pageantry and massive wealth. Where did their prophet’s innocence disappear?

Islam is much more faithful to its original precepts, which from the outset were based on militancy, war, pillage and mass assassinations, while creating by conquest the most extensive military dominance known to man. In fact the original leaders of Islam themselves were not spared from this carnage. All of this we know through their own scribes, who, incredible as this may sound, began writing the sacred books of Islam 200 years after their prophet had died. They artfully clarify that thousands of the prophet’s followers and their descendants, during that period of time, memorized the exact words which the Jewish Angel Gabriel had apparently recited to their prophet, who could barely read or write, and whose words were secretarially transcribed by his friends, companions and followers. These revelations it is stated, were written on whatever was convenient at the time, specific mention being made in the scriptures to “papyrus, flat stones, palm leaves, shoulder blades and ribs of animals, pieces of leather and wooden boards.”

Though this may appear to be barren of logic, it takes on a different perspective when we appreciate that the original scribes now call themselves Muslim Priests, Clerics, Mullahs, Imams and Ayatollahs, and, through self-serving rules of their own creation, dominate through fear a quarter of the world’s population, most of whom would prefer, by their nature, to be peaceful and law abiding.

The American governance heritage was originally crafted in a wizardry created to resist all intrusions into its sanctity, and simply named “Checks and Balances. It was intended to have 3 main independent powers: Executive, Legislative and Judicial, but the ultimate trump card was given to the people whose unalienable right it is to possess and use weapons, should it become necessary to discourage a Government’s kidnapping of their liberties. Simple and logical right? Well not necessarily. Though not mentioned specifically as a condition for continued employment, it was assumed that all elected Presidents would heartily embrace the Constitution and its intent. It was not foreseen that one day a President would surround himself with a brood of shadowy knaves bent like himself on the recreation of the Constitution. The checks and balances however were designed to prevent such a blasphemy, right? The Legislative Branch will uphold the sanctity of the Constitution and people’s rights will triumph. Good logical deduction but in practice, the legislative majority had turned in their brains and conscience in exchange for a rubber stamp, prioritizing their political Party’s agenda over the Constitution of the United States.

The Constitutional Fathers apparently had not anticipated that loyalty to a political party would emerge as the overall dominant force, and that it would allow a single being, a President to steam roll an entire country, overpowering legislative bodies comprised of 535 elected representative, who would otherwise have been expected to act honestly, within the limitations of their brains and consciences.

The solution to this insanity can easily be found with simple logic. Both the House of Representatives and the Senate are sorely lacking in Independent minds, elected members who are not blindly tied to a political party, or for that matter to any single political philosophy. Independent Congressmen and Senators possessing clear autonomous minds and consciences might be expected to act for the benefit of the people on each and every issue, and that apparently is beyond logical expectations from members of either political party. These Independents, without collective pre-arrangements, would nevertheless hold the balance of power, and perhaps cause the reinstatement of the power to the people.

In the next scheduled election, it appears inevitable that a President will be chosen from the ranks of a political party, but it would be a Godsend if at least 50 totally independent house representatives were elected, and as many Senators as possible, thereby aborting dictatorial powers from either side. In this manner would not the American people themselves fill an obvious void in the Checks and Balance blueprint? Inevitably, the merry go round will otherwise continue its dizzying course, and with all due respect to the great Kate Smith, the words to her legendary rendition could then possibly be changed to: “God Save America”

O JUSTICE, JUSTICE! WHEREFORE ART THOU JUSTICE?

Posted on March 30th, 2007 in Uncategorized | Comments Off

Is there really a sense of justice? Does justice have a sense? Can we sense injustice? Can we make sense of justice? Do laws make up justice? Should justice be moral? Should justice be vengeful? Should justice be exemplary?
People of all classes of societies would have strong diverging views on these questions, and for that reason, injustice is found to be lurking almost everywhere. We would have thought it likely that by now the powers of justice might have saturated the fibers of society, but perhaps God has decided to keep justice as his exclusive domain, till our societies grow up sufficiently to accept justice as part of their predestined heritage.

Surprisingly however, through the miracles provided by oversimplification, we have succeeded in isolating some elements of justice whose presence has contributed considerably in tipping the scale of justice to the positive side. In simple terms, Justice must be objective and never personal. It should be applied evenly and unsparingly as one would apply a coat of paint, and its application must take whatever time may be needed to cover all flaws.

Justice does not always triumph, and in fact in the minds of opposing parties involved in justice proceedings, justice is most often considered to have failed by half of the people concerned. Justice is not likely to ever become an absolute, but if it did, that fact would become self-evident, as all Supreme Court decisions would then necessarily be unanimous.

Occurrences of individual injustices, painful as they can be to innocent victims, pale into insignificance however when compared to the appalling injustices that have been perpetrated historically on massive segments of the many societies of the world, and continue to desecrate our moral fibers today.

Dominant among these is the “Plight” of Women, a word that has long been linked to women in the universal game of word association. Following our in-depth cursory study of all significant factors relative to this issue, we have concluded that nature, is the prime cause for most problems besetting women.

The Gene Creator of the universe, whom we all recognize as the creator of nature as well as the universe, had devised a master plan for human kind, which was based on people of the female gender being given the power of propagating human generations, and the responsibility of caring for them individually in their formative years.

To aid in accomplishing these tasks the creator had provided the female with a superior intellect, and had designed a male companion giving him a fleeting role in procreation and assigning him the responsibility of protecting the female, and providing her and their offspring’s with necessities for human survival. It was not believed that these male tasks required an inordinate amount of intelligence and the male was therefore conceived accordingly, but was given considerably more corpulence to better carry out his assigned duties.

Thus began the world’s most lasting injustice, pinning the mainly physical half of the world’s population against the generally intellectual half. Unable to understand or accept his destiny, and unresponsive to anything but physical values, the males undertook to employ their physical attributes in competitive clashes among themselves, and females became the original collateral casualties of all times.

Even today ancient societies fail to provide equal status for women and this is amply illustrated by practices within the two main religions of the world, which are dominated by pretentious male egocentrics who cannot accept that their given attributes, from their God, their right to rule and command, are due exclusively to their physical strength as a society group, and in no way reflects particularly noteworthy intellectual or spiritual values.

Outright slavery, ranks second as a world class mass injustice, and given the self evident great accomplishments of African descendants living today in modern societies, it is clear that, there as well, brute force was again the medium through which that injustice was blatantly perpetrated. There is undoubtedly a pattern which clearly indicates that injustice and superior force are close allies, a conclusion which is amply demonstrated in most areas where circumstances point to a need for justice.

Are wars ever just? During WW2 it is estimated that over 60 million human lives were taken of which close to half were Soviet. Were these casualties fully justified by pseudo-Aryan pride and Japanese territorial ambitions? In both cases years of preparation had contributed to Germany and Japan believing in their own invincibility. The madness of power and injustice had prevailed.

The current conflict in Iraq is a model of injustice. Led by an intellectually strained President whom nature unjustly deprived of integrity, the world’s most dominant nation attacked a small country 8000 miles away from their shores, masking their true intentions of establishing their control over one of the world’s oil rich geographies. Though overtly intent on displacing a malevolent dictator, they saturated the country with violence, destroyed civilian infrastructures, and caused the death of over 50,000 people, few of which were military.

Meanwhile, back on the farm, hordes of invaders were allowed to stream unharmed into their country, and the population’s job providing sector was allowed to seep out to other countries so that corporations could be more generous to their shareholders.

G. W. Bush, an errant accident of nature, does not appear to have ever applied the scales of justice to any of his decisions and he will emerge in history as one of the most flagrant abusers of justice to have ever marred this earth.

Perhaps little can be more revolting than a crooked judge, or prosecutor, the expected level of integrity related to those responsibilities defying gravity. A country’s top law enforcer should be expected to effectively maintain a standard of integrity even beyond theirs, but no one appears to have informed Attorney General Alberto Gonzales of these basic requirements. Enough is being said currently concerning his woes, but if anyone wishes to go beyond current news, a reading of Wikipedia’s article “Alberto Gonzales” paragraph “War on terror” would confirm their darkest apprehensions.

The cold war is also a case in point. It may be argued that the US, in view of their strong economy, was stronger militarily than the Soviet Union, but since each had attained a saturation point as to their potential for the extinction of the human race, peace and justice prevailed, and a tolerant friendship ensued. There was not the margin of superiority on either side needed to justify undertaking an unjust war adventure.

Deceit and injustice are partners in crime and are not always self-evident but often raise questions:

Do G.W. Bush and conspirators have a covert agenda in support of a dominant class, while attempting to subjugate the working class?

Was the Iraq war partly the result of a needed re-tooling of the U.S. military apparatus?

Was Tony Blair aware of the nuclear device story fabrication from the outset?

Did the Iraq war spending result in the largest graft fraud of all times?

Was justice respected when the prosecutorial powers in the Hussein trial removed the trial judge as being too accommodating to the defendant?

Were the sacred scriptures of Islam really the words of the great prophet Mohammad, though unwritten till 200 years following his passing?

Should steroid pumping athletes not be sued for damages by honest athletes who have been unjustly deprived of their rightful monetary rewards?

Did G.W. Bush ever consider taking his troops out of Iraq or was his real intent always to station an army in this oil rich area, indefinitely?

These possibilities are but a few examples of where deceit may lie, there are many more, and they illustrate that most deceits and injustices are created by perpetrators who enjoy a position of strength and responsibility, factors which provide irresistible temptations to demagogues wrongdoers, and criminals.

The greater mass injustices of our present times, are easily identified and it is clear that the oppressed are the meek and vulnerable. It is also clear that the world powers who have claimed to represent decency, have never taken action against oppressors till a considerable amount of blood had flowed in the streets, as can attest Kosovo, Rwanda and Darfur. If, as we surmise, injustices in the form of sectarian or racial murders and genocide require that one side be militarily dominant, then let the so called power brokers of peace at a very early stage prove their all-out military support for the weaker side and thereby create a power balance in the area and possibly prevent a calamity before it even begins.

ISLAM’S SILENT PAST

Posted on November 9th, 2006 in Uncategorized | Comments Off

When the untimely death of Mohammad occurred, he was replaced as Caliph by Abu Bakr who was Mohammad’s father-in-law and his constant companion in later years. Abu Bakr died under unknown circumstances a few years later and was followed by Umar, then Uthman, and he was followed by Ali, Mohammad’s own son-in-law, who broke away from the main body of Muslims and around whom was formed the Shiite Muslim community. All three died at the hands of assassins, as did also Ali’s two sons Hassan and Husayn who followed in their father’s footsteps and became Caliphs in their own right. All of the above occurred during the first thirty years of the Islamic movement.

The rest of the civilized world was relatively peaceful at that time, most nations in an expanded Middle-Eastern region being otherwise in a state of recovery from tumultuous centuries of conflict between the rival Byzantine and Persian empires, and what better time to launch a successful invasion of surrounding nations. Thus was born the great Arabian and Moorish empire.

The wars up to that period of time, all appeared to have strong religious overtones as the rulers had found it appropriate to share the responsibilities of justice and governance with their own God, whose characteristics they created to suit their own purposes. Constantinople and Adarshir adopted the doctrines of Manichean and Zoroastrian, but they stopped short of the earlier pretenses of Caesar and Alexander the Great who self-proclaimed themselves as Gods.

These were religions of acts, the Gods and leaders of those days being apparently satisfied with overt expressions of devotion such as the worshipping of idols, the sacrificing of animals and humans, the burning of incense, prostration, genuflexion, bowing and other traditional acts of devotion. Then evolved the concept of religions of thought, and thus was born Christianity.

Mohammad prior to establishing himself as a spiritual and sectarian leader at the age of forty, had traveled to and resided in the western part of the Middle East, was aware of their religions, their history and their cultures, and was therefore able to identify and assemble the elements most likely to assure success in the great enterprise which he and his “companions” were meditating for the future. They would combine the time proven course of God assisted governing and related social behavior, and enhance it to its ultimate potential with a plethora of specific beliefs, deemed to have found their origin with a till then unknown God, whose language of expression was, providentially, the one used in that region at that time. Thus were born the foundations of Islam, the principle documents known as the Koran (The words of Allah) the Sunnah (the words of Mohammad), the Haddith (oral accounts) and the works of biographers and historians Sira, Bukhari, Muslim and Tabari.

Belief in the absolute validity of Islam scriptures requires unhindered faith, which is only possible in the minds of a totally committed devotee. Independent scholars when undertaking a study on the origin of the Islamic documents and the circumstances of their creation, cannot avoid realizing that there are elements in the transmission of this knowledge which make it almost impossible for a logical and objective mind to accept at face value, the accuracy or perhaps even the authenticity of the scriptures. Of course many poeple have a similar view of the Old Testament as well.

Islam believes that the Angel Gabriel appeared to Mohammad and recited to him while in seclusion, revelations that are claimed to be the exact words of God himself. These were dictated in the Arabic dialect used exclusively by the Quraish tribe of Mecca of that time.

Mohammad could barely read or write, and verbally repeated these revelations to “companions”, who were numerous, but most likely also marginally literate.

The revelations were written on whatever was convenient, specific mention being made in the scriptures to “papyrus, flat stones, palm leaves, shoulder blades and ribs of animals, pieces of leather and wooden boards.” Mohammad’s “Companions” undertook it appears to memorize these revelations word for word and little effort was made to assemble or organize them till 30 years after Mohammad’s death. The recounting of that period’s history as it is affirmed today, including the biography of Mohammad, was not undertaken till 200 years following Mohammad’s death. The extent of the claimed Koranic revelations can be estimated by the size of their translation into the English language, which approximates 150,000 words.

No less than 23 of the personalities incorporated in the Jewish Tanakh and Christian Bible, are recognized as prophets in their own rights in the Koran, the appropriate historical notes and anecdotes concerning each, being also present in the Koran, with minor variations. The similarities between the Tanakh, the Bible and the Koran are explained as having been issued of a common divine source, the Christian or Jewish texts being separate authentic divine revelations provided to their prophets as well.

We are told that each prophet, with the exception of Muhammad, was sent to convey God’s message to a specific group or communities. Muhammad’s message however is the only one specifically destined for the whole of mankind and it was God’s will that he would be the last prophet the world would ever know.

We are therefore compelled to believe that extensive and complex writings which were provided verbally in an obscure language and are the equivalent of a 150,000 word book, were committed to memory for 30 years by an unknown number of partly literate people before being scripted provisionally for posterity.

There are schools of thought that see Mohammad, as a successful Arab merchant and formidable speaker, who gathered many followers, referred to as “companions. Mohammad they say became a kind of persona about whom legends are created, and these were initially made real over time by more literate groups of future generations of writers and scribes, who had no personal knowledge as points of reference.

Mohammad’s biography and the history of his times were effectively written 200 years later in the Sira, and it tells us that Mohammad became an outstanding General, and that in fact his troops initially financed by its conquests, were successfully involved in 26 battles during a period of 7 years between years 623 and 630. Abu Bakr his constant companion and successor, continued this mission, and he and other successors were subsequently engaged in more than 55 battles on their way to conquering a large part of the “civilized” world.

As we study the history and precepts of Fundamental Islamic Clerics over the years,we are struck by the absence of processes that could lead to peaceful conversions of non-Muslims, but we do find an abundance of threats of death, and other forms of violence, when Allah is not promptly accepted as their God. The words of Tabari IX:69 “We fight people until they believe in Allah”, though one of the scripture’s shorter sentences reflects much of the overall philosophy of Islam.

There are indications that Mohammad was immersed in self-doubt. He is said to have destroyed many revelations, which in his view may have originated from the devil pretending to be the Angel Gabriel. He admonished his “companions” for noting his sayings, and it is thought that he ordered the burning of many early revelations.

A change of direction to Mohammad’s original intent may have occured when more militaristic “companions” took over the reins of the Muslim movement in the earliest stages perhaps even during Mohammad’s lifetime, and years later authored a complete rewriting and editing of the Koran, with the intent of redirecting Mohammad’s original purpose to a path of violence, and conquests, that being their own agenda. Thus were born the evils of Al Qaeda which have been kept alive for fourteen centuries by fundamentalist Clerics and their restrictive authoritarian heritage which has provided all the excuses needed to justify the killing of innocents.

It follows that the writings of Islam, were scripted after the death of Mohammad, and were therefore never read to him or approved by him, and they appear to be the work of generations of his followers, who subjectively and progressively over centuries wrote texts designed to fulfill their own agenda of world dominance, total control of their adherent’s lives, and the subservience of women. A reading of the Sharia section in the online encyclopedia Wikipedia is required reading for any curious mind not familiar with the extent of the control being exacted by fundamentalist Clerics, particularly as it concerns the physically weaker gender.

It is the prevailing purpose of the Islam originator’s legatees, today’s Fundamentalist Clerics, to maintain this status quo indefinitely by any means possible including deaths, violence and of course their main weapon, fear, fear of fanatic fundamentalists and fear of God. There can be no improvement to this world problem till the Muslin Moderates overcome their fear of their Fundamentalist brothers and find a way to clearly distance themselves from them in a tangible and visible manner, for the whole world to appreciate.

Allah, God, Jehovah, the one Creator by any name, surely does not wish to dismantle that which he has miraculously assembled, nor could he or the Prophet Mohammad, possibly approve of those who presume to destroy any of his human creations said to be in his image. If not under God’s authority, or Mohammad’s, for whose benefit are the current acts of violence and self-immolation being perpetrated?

GEORGE W’s CALL OF DESPERATION

Posted on October 4th, 2006 in Uncategorized | Comments Off

Hello Ehud, its me..George ..yeah the President.. right.. of the United States heh.. heh. I wanted to give you a call on a new idea I’ve had simmering around in my brains, since we had our get-together last may.. you remember? heh.. heh.. and its something that I can’t discuss with too many people, not even Condi and Dick, so I would be much obliged if you could keep this quiet for now .. No one’s written anything for me on this, like the stuff that I read at my news conferences, so I’m gonna try to explain this as well as I can without any help from nobody.”

Ya.. Laura is fine.. and the children too.. growing up and staying out of the newspapers, as far as I know.. I don’t read newspapers much you know.. very depressing.”

Ya Dick is ok. Though I have to tell you, we have a hard time figuring that out with him. He’s been very depressed since the Pentagon asked his company to kick back some money. He says that he’s lost a lot of prestige with his influential friends, and he also keeps getting some kind of recurring nightmare.. about being on an airplane going to the Hague. Poor guy I tried to make him feel better by promising that he will get full immunity from prosecution when I go, but he worries that I might not make it that far.. and you know what heh.. heh.. if the Democrats blow us out in November, he could be right.

The reason for my call? You mean you have something more important maybe?”

Well tell the generals to take a break and be patient.. they’re probably going to like my idea anyway when they hear it.. though I would prefer that you tell them it’s your idea heh..heh..”

No you don’t have to.. forget that I said that and I ‘ll get right to the point.
Ehud, there’s a lot of information leaking going on in Washington these days, and it’s not all from me and my boys heh.. heh.. So maybe you already know.. that I might be a little bit less popular these days than I was at the end of the Iraq war.. you know.. when I landed on that aircraft carrier. I tell ya.. people really go for uniforms.. Yep.. Air Force uniforms and jackets will never get outta style.”

No I don’t own one myself, don’t have to.. Air Force is full of them, and I own them all heh.. heh.. Had a hard time finding the right one though, they don’t all bend easily at the elbows. I don’t like walking with my arms straight. Everybody else does, so this way people know it’s me from a distance heh.. heh.
Now being less popular I can live with since I can only hang around another couple of years anyway. What I worry about is that with a mid-term election around the corner, the Democrats might take over my Congresh, and throw a monkey wrench into what I am trying to do here.”

What?… I beg your pardon.. I do know what I want to do.. funny guy.. but this is serious. Of course, you have nothing to worry about.. that’s the only thing that Democrats and us have in common.. supporting Israel, but they don’t like rich people and that’s us. If they had their way they would take the money out of our pockets.. and give it to these people who pretend to be looking for work heh.. heh.. My guys tell me that the ideal society, is one where people who have made it big would run things.. and everybody else would do their jobs and stop messing things up..”

Ya.. that’s coming up in November, and unless we pull a rabbit out of a hat.. that’s an expression.. you know .. like magic.. oh well.. some of my friends in Congresh and even in the Senate could be looking for another job.”

No, they’re too old to join the army and we prefer kids anyway… fresh out of school maybe.. or even dropouts… This way.. heh.. heh.. if they get it we don’t have whole families to worry about.”

Ya.. I’m getting to it. Just thought I should fill you in on some background stuff. The fact of the matter is, I need a little action to get people to like me again so that my friends in congresh can lean on me, and squeeze out another victory for what we stand for.”

No, we don’t need Israel soldiers in Iraq.. although.. come to think of it heh.. heh… they probably would clean up my mess in short order, but some people might call it an eshcalation of some sort, still.. nice of you to mention it. What I need is a little diversion that people can’t blame me for because, you know… people are blaming me for everything I do.. I need something to make my fellow Americans forget about Iraq for a while, and make them realize that I can’t be blamed for everything that happens in the world, and that squirmishes like all those killings in Iraq also happen at other places.. where we are not.. and where we can’t go anyway, because we can’t spare any more soldiers right now.”

Yes, I know that your area has been fairly quiet now for a while..that’s part of my problems.. and maybe a little action might do you some good too heh.. heh.. I need to have people be aware of the great dangers of terrorism you see… that’s how I got elected two years ago, and with a little action maybe my guys can get elected again this time around.. and do what I want them to do for another couple of years. By then, Jeb will take over and I will help him from the sidelines.. and still be in charge heh.. heh.. after all if it weren’t for him, I probably would have lost the first election.”

Right Ehud.. that’s a good idea. I promise.. if we can cooperate on my little problem I will talk to him and so if he can find a good Jewish running mate, I’m sure that he’ll go along with it.. Of course, he may have some concerns about the fact that my pal Al Gore had one.. remember? and some people think that could have been one the reason why he lost the election in the first place heh.. heh.”

No.. I don’t think we can take what I have in mind to the U.N. Anyway they’re too busy trying to feed all these people that can’t hold on to their jobs to feed their families in the Sudan.. and other out of the way places.. and that’s a good thing, because it’s one less problem for us to think about. These people should go to Universities and learn how to make big bucks. That would solve the problem. They could even move to India or China where we know there are lots of good jobs. I know that for a fact.. honest.. Lou Dobbs keeps reminding me all the time heh.. heh …”

No Ehud… we don’t expect you to give them jobs.. although if any country could do that it probably would be you. I don’t understand how you manage to balance your exports and imports the way you do.. It’s a trick right? An accounting trick. You’ll have to teach that to us some day, but I didn’t call to tell you how smart you guys are. I want you to do something about your terrorism problem, and I have a plan, and I need your help.”

I shouldn’t have to remind you Ehud, that without us.. you guys would be history. We did some math the other day, and it looks like we’ve given you over $100 Billion in aid to save your.. ah.. hide during the last 50 years, and we also provided you with the best darn armaments aid can buy.. 200 to 300 of our top fighters : F-14s, 16s and 18s, helicopters that will kill all the people you don’t like, Bombs, Rockets and…”

Right, I agree, you are doing some of our dirty work.. and true.. you are testing all the new military stuff under real battle conditions.. but there’s a problem there too heh.. heh. All that hardware is rusting right now since you’re not using it fast enough recently, and our friends at Lockheed Martin, Raytheon, and Boeing, are worried that if it’s too quiet your way, and things die down a little in Iraq and that other place.. Afghanistan.. they might end up with a big pension problem.. if they have to lay off and retire a whole bunch of workers.”

Ya, I know Ehud.. I shouldn’t make that my problem, but Dick and Donald keep bringing it up and.. they’re getting to be regular pains. Sometimes I wish that…Well lets get back to my problem. You know that these evil countries like Iran, North-Korea and Syria, not to mention Venezuela and Cuba, are enemies of ours.. and all have plans to hurt us badly if we give them a chance. That’s a known fact.. my trusted advisers have told me so.. but most people don’t realize that we too have on the table.. some pretty nifty plans ourselves for destroying them first.. like we did in Iraq heh.. heh.. heh. But they’re not cooperating somehow, no matter what we do or say to provoke them. I think there is a conspiracy to ignore me.. and they are not giving me enough reasons to take them out, and that’s where you should come in.”

No Ehud.. I don’t expect you to invade Syria.. that would be too obvious, but if you were to sashay into southern Lebanon.. to destroy your enemies the Heshbollah.. who are camped there and want to eventually destroy you.. the Syrians might make a mistake and come to their defense. Then we could have a real party.. something to tide me over till the November elections. Something to make it sound right when I say that Democrats are peaceniks that can’t be trusted to defend us here heh.. heh.. heh.”

Yes Ehud..I know that many people might be killed…. and yes.. maybe even a few kids.. but I’ve been told many times that my decisions have indirectly killed a lot of children.. but you wont find me crying over spilt milk. Anyway.. here we call it collateral damage. It doesn’t sound as bad.. even to me when I say it heh.. heh.”

No.. I don’t have a real plan.. not really.. but maybe some of your soldiers could be sent there you know.. just to sniff around maybe.. and if something were to happen to them.. well.. that’s a pretty good reason isn’t it?”

Anyway.. I know you’ll do whatever is best for both of us.”

Thank you, and Laura is sending her best wishes to you and to your wife also.. and so do the kids.

Bye now.

WHOSE PEACE WILL PREVAIL IN THE END

Posted on July 12th, 2006 in Uncategorized | Comments Off

How do you stop a war that began fourteen centuries ago? A good start would be to understand whom we are fighting and why they are fighting us. George W. Bush cannot be blamed for starting it, though he probably would have, but he rekindled it and snatched defeat in Iraq from the jaws of victory in Afghanistan when he decided that the a ruler in the middle east who had full control of Islamic terrorists, had to go.

Did he know that Islam, not England, not France, not Russia, Germany, or China, Islam was the most successful conqueror in the history of the world, its conquests extending from Spain to China? . Did he know that at that time Baghdad was the original base of early Islam? Did he really believe that a culture with such a length of heritage would convert to his incredibly shallow values?

War, of course, is the peace terminator, that everyone instantly distinguishes from peace when the thought of one or the other occupies our minds. There is no middle ground. When the U.S. and the Soviet Union were building and accumulating incredible arsenals of weaponry in anticipation of having to destroy each other and the world 100 times over, during that 44 year period known as the cold war, in actual fact there was no war.

That was a time of peace, costly peace but nevertheless each side had leaders that recognized the consequences of starting a war that could bring about the end of civilization. Anyone who believes in God should perhaps say a silent prayer of thanks that George W. Bush did not sit in the White House during those years.

The U.S.A. entered this century with a strong record of dedication to the cause of peace and in the wars in which they involved themselves, they are deemed to have carried the baton of peace for all freedom loving countries. It is very unfortunate that such an enviable record, unique in history, should now be desecrated, perhaps beyond decontamination, by a President that is unknowingly deprived of wisdom and who wages war like a barnyard rooster protects his harem. Meanwhile the United Nations, starving for a more forceful leadership, has dishonored itself for its lack of meaningful and immediate action to the plight of the vulnerable people of the world. Was it not originally created specifically for that purpose?

The disruption of peace historically, has been a ponderous affair requiring long periods of preparation before evolving into endless wars. There was traditionally, a strange reluctance on the part of potential defenders of peace, in realizing the imminence of conflict and this was specifically reflected at Pearl Harbor, in Poland and New York. This is probably the reason why today, with the awesome development of weapons of mass destruction, the opposite may have become reality, and some Governments are suffering from chronic fear inflammations due to the real possibility of a mass carnage as yet never seen before.

Though much has been written concerning the nuclear ambitions of Iran, an immediate danger lies in waiting in the vaults of North Korea whose leader may suddenly decide that Islamic terrorists should have the right to at least one of his nuclear weapons.

Would these committed terrorists make use of these weapons, and why are these firebrand religionists giving up their own lives to kill unknown enemies? Why are they intent on killing masses of strangers in New York, Spain, London and now India? It is because they have been told that this is what Allah himself expects of them, and no understanding of this “war” is possible without an objective study of their scriptures.

Muhammad’s Own Words” by author Craig Winn (http://www.prophetofdoom.net/quotes.aspx?g=405) carries a large number of quotations all of which are referred to in the sacred scriptures of Islam: the Qur’an, Sira, Ta’rikh, and Hadith. These are organized in 32 groups for easy reference. The author, in fairness, points out that he compiled these quotes placing his emphasis on Mohammad’s apparent violent rejection of all that is non-Muslim.

It should be appreciated that each quotation is accompanied by an international Arabic Scriptures code, and the placing of those codes in a Google search window between quotation marks, clearly shows that these are universally recognized quotations. They were neither created nor manipulated by the author.

Some of these quotes read as follows:

Qur’an:9:5 :

“Fight and kill the disbelievers wherever you find them, take them captive,

harass them, lie in wait and ambush them using every stratagem of war.”

Muslim:C40B20N4676 :

“Jihad Is Compulsory.”

Tabari IX:113

“Allah permits you to shut them in separate rooms and to beat them, but not severely. If they abstain, they have the right to food and clothing. Treat women well for they are like domestic animals and they possess nothing themselves. Allah has made the enjoyment of their bodies lawful in his Qur’an.”

Bukhari:V3B48N826

“The Prophet said, ‘Isn’t the witness of a woman equal to half of that of a

man?’ The women said, ‘Yes.’ He said, ‘This is because of the deficiency of a woman’s mind.’”

Ishaq:316

“Following Badr, Muhammad sent a number of raiders with orders to capture some of the Meccans and burn them alive.”

These are but a few of the many such thoughts carried in the Muhammad’s Own Words site. The reading of this collection of quotes by non-Muslims, gives rise to considerable peace deprivation on the part of those of us described as infidels and unbelievers, since these thoughts, which even today are considered to be decrees from Allah continue to be promoted by Clerics with a fanatical bent towards radicalism.

The most supportive pro- Muslim scripture scholars are in agreement, that Mohammad could neither read nor write, and that these monumental scripture are at best the result of word of mouth being carried for two centuries, prior to being written in an obscure language of the times.

Potentially this leads to a reasonable possibility that Muhammad was unquestionably a fervent devotee of Allah, who sought and obtained guidance from Him, perhaps even in states of trances as is claimed, and the violence found in the scriptures may have originated in large measure, from the Islamic leaders in centuries that followed, in their quest for world political dominance through military action. The Islamic terrorists of today, would then be responding to the words of centuries old Religious leaders, rather than words that belonged to Mohammad or Allah.

Modern Muslim clerics by association are considered by many of their followers to be in-line legatees in their Prophet’s mission in fact Shiite Imams are deemed to speak for God in any new precept, which they may pronounce as a supplement to existing Islamic law or moral dogma. If the Clerics’ teachings today are from the words attributed to Muhammad, and they are creating a new violent generation of hate-filled young Muslim, all non-Muslims of the world are fully justified in being wary of Muslims that overtly cling to traditional attributes directly related to their religion, its precepts and presumably its most horrid commandments, all the while enjoying the worldly benefits available in a westernized society.

All the nations of the world, all the cultures of the world, all the religions of the world, have in their midst a percentage of their people who genetically or for any other reasons, adopt a life of crime, of violence, generally a natural tendency towards anti-social behavior. Studies suggest that a figure of 10% of overall populations may be a reasonably estimate of people naturally prone to violence and crime. It follows that 90% of the world’s population whether In Europe, Asia, the Americas, or whether they are, Christians, Muslims or Buddhist, are normal, sensitive, peaceful individuals by nature, and only 10% are not.

The Catholic Church has its mafia, despite generating the most peaceful of religious messages. Islam’s natural militants, no more prevalent than in other sectarian groups, are however immersed as children in violent thoughts attributed to Mohammad, that they are selectively obligated to memorize. Peace should not be a primary factor at this time since it is unattainable.

The White House, having opted for an overall policy of threats and intimidation, there is no solid ground from which a political peace process can be seriously entertained. A stable status quo is perhaps the best possible foreseeable scenario but the longer-term future for these totally discordant Western and Islamic cultures must be consolidated from a firmer base than presently exists.

It is possible that God’s judgment concerning each individual may have as a major determinant, people’s own deeds and thoughts towards each other? Could everyone be held accountable for acts that may have prevented God and them from enjoying peace within their souls? If this is so, for those who in this manner may have disturbed the peace of God, where will they find peace?

Whose peace will prevail in the end? It will not be Islamic, since too many of the words attributed to Mohammad tell us that peace was never part of the agenda, nor can it originate from George W. Bush and his bad angels, who believe that peace without victory is an admission of defeat.

t will be God’s peace, one way or another……

WHO WILL TEACH THE WHITE HOUSE SOME CORE VALUES?

Posted on June 2nd, 2006 in Uncategorized | Comments Off

God take revenge on the Americans and those who brought them here. They have no regard for our lives.” Those are the heart wrenching words of a brother whose sister has just been gunned down by trigger-happy young Marines in Samara, while she was racing towards her maternity hospital. For how many people is he speaking? Millions? Billions?

The youthful soldiers’ excuse is that he told them to stop and they didn’t. Where did such a war philosophy ferment itself? What heedless minds are responsible for programming the captive brains of these delusional combatants, and now indicate that they will teach them “Core Warrior Values”? Have none of them ever read books other than high school required reading, which would perhaps have described for them the atrocities of Ancient Warriors? Is the word soldier insufficient to relate to what is now but a complex policing operation? Is the choice of that word a further gaffe for a Military that is becoming legendary in this area?

Few people would doubt, that if this administration’s sole objective had been to surgically remove Saddam Hussein, as George W. Bush and Donald Rumsfeld. asserted, the Iraq war would have received much support from many Arab states. The appearance is, however, that despite the U.S. air strike success in Kosovo, the Bush Administration nurtured a hidden agenda that required massive deployment of occupation forces, and the establishment of a loyal and friendly new controlling block in Iraq. This machination by an oil-impregnated administration was conceived as a manner of controlling a sufficient amount of world oil reserves, for the U.S. to be itself an influential factor in the world price for oil.

In modern history, as well as present times, there are numerous examples of dominant powers and individuals, venting their anger on the innocent, when the true culprits are beyond their reach. The U.S. Military and the current Administration at some point, must have decided that, using a surgical knife however was not time effective when seeking to carve out for itself a sizable niche in the world’s most desirable geography.

How else to explain the destruction of water services, telephone and other forms of communication, electric power grids and other installations dedicated to the care of citizens. These are services which innocent civilians cannot do without, but trained military insurgents have little need of. Yet, these Demolition Generals did not avoid doing precisely that, first in Baghdad, then in Fallujah, despite numerous claims by the U.S. military of possessing state of the art surgical weaponry.

In the war oriented minds of people such as George W. Bush and his blind followers, the simple solution of the wolf in the Fable was probably sufficient reasoning for them: “Maybe it wasn’t you that drank my water he says to the lamb, but it was probably one of your brothers or cousins” So he ate him. With similar logic they made Iraqis responsible for the 9/11 attack, and Iraqi citizens somewhat responsible for the acts of terrorism in Iraq, and thereby openly professed their unconcern for the innocent citizens of Iraq whom they had professed to save from tyranny

The primary instigators of this massacre tolerant philosophy were George W. Bush, Donald Rumsfeld and tricky Dick II Cheney, and in so doing they created a trickle process readily embraced by the Army Commanders, and ultimately by lesser officers and soldiers, all of which led to the documented abuses at Abu Ghraib, the potentially greater abuses at Guantanamo, plus the Haditha carnage and now the latest random killing in Samarra, so reminiscent of the last year’s suspected assassination attempt of Giuliana Sgrena, an Italian leftist newspaperwoman just released by her kidnappers. This question is well justified:” Are these the whole enchilada, or only the tip of a giant iceberg?” The probable answer of choice is frightful.

The latest media fad as a replacement for hard work is the unending polling of viewers on the most trite of subjects. Perhaps someone could ask for answers to the following question:
What is George W. Bush’s instinctive reaction when apprised of such events for the first time.
A) Mad as a hornet at those soldiers for getting caught?
B) Disappointment in his Generals for allowing such matters to occur?
C) Sorrow for the victims and their family?
D) A fleeting touch of delusive satisfaction?
E) Unavoidable collateral damage?

At some point, George W. Bush and his band of merry mensas, will be made to realize that the formula that was applied in the mid-twentieth century, when Germany and Japan were defeated, and then were immediately aided in developing strong industrialized economies, will not succeed in this case. The people now involved simply do not want an American system of governance which openly enables massive corruption, nor would they exchange any part of their own culture dating over thousands of years, for that which is represented nightly on American TV.

The shortsighted view is that terrorism could once again strike U.S. soil, and occasional utterances by the Sultan of Terror confirm that this could be in fact their intent. Should a disastrous terrorist act again occur on U.S. soil, the fear mongers in the White House will feel vindicated by the tangible validation of their long held views, and they will point fingers at their detractors. These, in turn, should angrily reply that a more conciliatory attitude by the Administration towards the Arab/Muslim people, replacing the current crusading course of action, might well have prevented that which, by then, will have taken place.

The longer-term implications, however, are that Arab investments in the U.S., which are now valued at more than 2 trillion dollars, will dry up, and may in fact be downsized in favor of investments in the growing, potentially friendly and peace loving European Community, whose currency is currently in the process of supplanting the Dollar as the principle world currency. The U.S. treasury and financial markets have been surviving on a steady inflow of outside capital, and would then be caught in a war of financial attrition, which they are in no position to win.

These dire overall consequences have stealthily begun to show, and are freely experienced by anyone approaching a Foreign Exchange counter. Graver concerns may occur sooner than we might normally expect at the current rate of irresponsible deficit spending, gargantuan trade deficits, progressively increasing labor outsourcing, and tax gifts to the wealthy, unless a total policy reversal is implemented, though the likeliness of this occurring with this ineffectual White House crew, is nil.

No one can permanently reverse the momentum of militant intervention by Muslim terrorists without a complete agreement between warring parties in Israel and Palestine. Any potential solution to this basic Middle East conflict must take the form of an agreement acceptable to the Palestinians, of their own free will

For starters, the U.S. could surely find a way to express their traditional support for Israel, without openly exhibiting hostility towards the Arab/Muslim community, its culture, and their leaders. To that end, Israel, whose only real benefit in the Middle East conflict has till now been the ephemeral inflow of U.S. capital and military resources should join the U.S. in this resolve. New lines must be drawn in the sand, which would provide a redefined Palestine with a significant Mediterranean shoreline, a united West Bank and Gaza and Palestine lands south of the West Bank. Unhappily however this would require from Israel the ceding of lands grabbed with the aid of US military hardware, an occurrence as unlikely to occur as the abandonment of Nuclear Technology by Iran or North Korea.

This would, however, create conditions for a lasting peace in the area, and probably engender a commercial and political union between Jordan and Palestine. It is likely that Saudi Arabia, which would benefit greatly from an access to the Mediterranean Sea, might complete that alliance and, as a friendly neighbor perhaps Israel, in time, would greatly benefit commercially, an area they have always prospered in.

Good commerce has been known to provide good peace. At the height of optimism, It should be possible to visualize a peaceful Israel, clearly separated from the equally peaceful states of Palestine, Syria and Lebanon, not by a wall, but by a highway under the watchful supervision of the U.N. or a coalition.

George W. Bush, the borderline-elected President, has professed that his inspiration is found in Christianity, and yet, his actions appear to reflect the exact opposite of the dogma that Jesus Christ extolled for three years. If Jesus Christ were a decision maker in the present Government, would he have sent his army of angels across the world to chastise a whole country for crimes he knew they did not commit? If George W. Bush is truly imbued with the Christian spirit, and therefore, believes in the after life, should he not worry as to the location of his final destination, where it appears presently that he is very unlikely to find his professed savior?

The truth is, George W. Bush like many other simple minded people we all know, is unable to let go of any idea which he has come up with, no matter how little thought has gone into it in the first place. Unless he suddenly becomes imbued with the ability or intuition to value common sense, this ongoing crisis will linger on and become the colossal disaster that his inviolable instincts have unwittingly charted for decades to come.

THE WAR TO STOP IS THE NEXT ONE

Posted on May 18th, 2006 in Uncategorized | Comments Off

Starting a war requires little more than a basic form of primeval intelligence. Stopping a war, however, may call for the concerted dedication of many superior human minds. It is consequently a simple but undeniable deduction that he who initiates a conflict is not likely to be the one to bring it to a timely end.

History is not a teacher, otherwise we would have learned something from it, but the cliché of “History repeats itself”, clearly suggest that too often nothing is gained from having lived through the experience in the first instance. History is a journal, a diary of the politics, wars and loves of the powerful and their followers.

The Bible is an account of God’s relations with the population groups of the Middle Eastern regions, but it is also a reliable chronicle of the events of war, and as such it is also a powerful reminder that even among God-fearing people of the past, the acts of war and savagery were the dominant occurrences of those times. It is not surprising that the so-called religious right advocates of today believe that the current war has the approval of God himself, a view recently advocated by one of America’s leading sectarian zanies.

Religious wars are philosophical wars and they have been and continue to be the plague of human kind. These wars began with a rush of religious fervor transforming itself to a nebulous power inebriating momentum and they ended after centuries when resistance was encountered of sufficient force to offset the conqueror’s diminished capacities. Thus ended the great incursions of Muslims of the seventh century which spanned from China to Spain and which was guided at the outset by Abu Bekr, the Great Prophet Mohammad’s chosen successor. In like manner, the militant insurgencies of Christian Popes and Kings against the occupiers of Jerusalem also came to their ultimate end.

Many wars can be attributed directly to the will of identifiable individuals, but we will leave the world’s history to the incisive words of H.G. Wells and mention but a few, such as Hitler, Mussolini, Hirohito, Stalin, Mao, Ho Chi Minh, and a modern day crusader whose name historians, out of shame, may only enter as a footnote.

It is not a simple task to identify individuals who are singly responsible for reestablishing peace. That was meant to be the responsibility of the United Nations which was intended to be a mechanism where all the world’s countries would be members, thereby insuring that most problem which had the potential of leading to a war, would be solved through internal diplomacy, and coercion. Yet, here we are today, deeply involved in Iraq, endlessly meditating on a genocide in Sudan, incapable of moving on African famine, and all this, after passing on the infamous Rwandan genocide.

Army Generals, such as Dwight Eisenhower and Douglas McArthur. used massive military resources while inflicting and sustaining great personnel losses to achieve peace, and we do not belittle their great accomplishments. We would prefer, however, to present our badges for individual peacemaking accomplishments, to individuals whose foresight may well have saved many lives while also achieving a semblance of peace.

Ronald Reagan may never receive full credit for his role leading to the cold war warming party. In the mid-eighties, he had theorized that he could avoid a war with the Soviet Union by increasing U.S. military spending to a level that their economy could not possibly match. In 1985, he spent $486.5 billion on military procurement, a record that withstood the test of time for 20 years. This flexing of muscles contributed significantly to the resolution of the cold war.

General Wesley Clark, a giant intellect and for that reason misunderstood by bystander Generals, in cooperation with a sprightly Madeleine Albright, achieved a total victory in short order and limited casualties in the Bosnia Kosovo humanitarian conflicts, by waging an intense air war while resisting all efforts to turn it into a ground disaster.

The role of George Bush senior and his very quick defense of Kuwait cannot be ignored, and his decision to avoid pursuing Iraqi forces into Iraq, severely criticized then, merits everyone’s admiration today. Is it possible that he foresaw what we now all understand, exception made of course of George Jr. who is still trying to figure it out.

The most significant instant “military” success in memory was the pre-emptive strike in Libya, when it was widely known that absolute ruler Qaddafi was interested in WMDs and had probably caused the Lockerbey airliner crash. Once again, in 1986, the Gipper, a true “Decider” and worthy of the name, made that decision, a nighttime air attack on the Qaddafi palace. He survived, but has been a model world citizen ever since.

There have been other pre-emptive style strikes since the advent of modern warfare, some on the ground, and others from the air, but in either case they were quick and penetrating, and somehow, they all appear to have solved their particular problem. Cases in point are the quick interventions in Panama, Argentina, and Grenada.

It is self evident however that planned wars with the dominant use of ground forces, did not achieve their desired success in Viet Nam, Korea, Somalia, and now Iraq, those scores being three humiliations and one nil.

It also appears that war strategies incorporate some serious side issues for the military. The use of timely air strikes does very little to stimulate the use and procurement of Ground Army weapons, and since army Generals dominate the military and have mouths to feed in military procurement companies, we need to ask if war efficiency has not become a secondary concern to the well being of the U.S. ground forces military partners.

The next War need not be a war, it could be stopped before it ever begins, and wars in progress can be curtailed, if powerful forces dedicated to peace decide to intervene intelligently. Medical science stipulates that cancerous cells must be surgically removed as early as possible and forest fires must be extinguished early as well. The same may be said of conflicts, especially when they are one sided, and a central figure is clearly the promoter of the unrest.

The Libya/Serbia type of solution may appear inhumane when not directly provoked, but a lesson can be learned in this instance from the past. Though the Libyan attack had been clearly an unsuccessful attempt to assassinate a rogue leader, the botched job is in fact an important part of its success. Qaddafi, a wise man in his own way, was made to realize that this was part of what the future would hold for him if he did not mend his ways. There was no change of government and no ensuing baggage of problems which would have otherwise been created had inferior minds prevailed and an attempt made to create a new form of government.

Could simulated near-miss attacks perhaps have been possible solutions to the problems presented by the likes of Idi Amin, Charles Taylor, Afghanistan War Lords, Robert Mugabe, Papa Doc, some dehumanized African leaders and rebels, and many other merciless dominators, thereby at least making an effort at preventing further bloodshed at their hands?

Could simulated near-miss attacks provide a possible solution to some of today’s problems? This is a profoundly disturbing thought but no more disturbing than some potential alternatives, which have been openly advocated by some nation leaders whose threats cannot be ignored, and whose good will it is impossible to imagine?

Would such a strategy help in ending the bloodletting stalemate in Iraq? Could not coalition soldiers, who present an easy target for insurgents, be relieved of their patrol duties, and be reserved for swift and timely commando style raids with coordinated air strikes, in a manner not unlike the proven Israeli strategy in Palestine? Is a degenerating status quo really the only possible strategy that the American coalition Generals can muster as a solution?

ONLY HUMANS DISTORT THE TRUTH

Posted on March 23rd, 2006 in Uncategorized | Comments Off

The truth of the matter is that lying is here to stay, and prosper. Though lying of itself seldom provides a discernable sensation or feeling of pleasure and satisfaction, its results when coupled with a reasonable degree of expertise are likely to exceed any possible measure of success to be expected from overt truthfulness, a great virtue which it is said provides its own reward, and sacrifices

The main catalyst and justification for lying is the golden rule of survival: “The end justifies the means”, and it often begins at a very tender age. It is said that some two-year-old children, after creating an unannounced mess on the floor, carpet, or even closer to home, try to attribute responsibility to a conveniently present brother or sister.

This initial adventure into the world of the unreal is a spontaneous instinctive parry, designed to thwart a vicious attack by the forces of truth, and therefore, essentially a defensive maneuver. The child’s brain cells will develop, and guided by the excellent examples available in its immediate and public surroundings, it will learn that in the hands of an reasonably intelligent person, the art of aggressive lying can lead to untold rewards, perhaps as far reaching as the Presidency of the United States.

We have in the past noted that George W. Bush is a master of this science and we have much to learn from him, as he has pushed his expertise to a level that most people would have thought unattainable. While giving him credit for his innovations in this area, we tend to reflect on the possibility that he is perhaps as much a victim of the times as he is an accomplished perpetrator, though one does not necessarily justify the other.

We sometimes wonder how it can be that people are deprived of their life savings by a slick peddler of fraudulent schemes. Could it not be that some people have literally no moral conscience whatever in their psychological make-up, and therefore do not second-guess themselves on anything at anytime. Could not such people, totally free of self-incrimination, somehow convey the impression of absolute honesty? Do we not know someone that seems to fit in that category?

We appraise lies by the importance of their effects, and since lying is seldom admitted to, and not always self evident, we learn to bend in the wind of deceit, and stop questioning the truthfulness of most actions and statements, the adroit purveyors of falsehood being once again the overall beneficiaries

The greatest accumulation of truths are in Nature itself as well as its biographer: Science. For millenniums thinkers have looked to the sky admiring the forces of our moon, sun, planets and stars, seeing in their animation the ultimate truth of the Universe, indications of coming events, and attributing to it the distinction of being God’s most probable lieu of residence.

This thought remains with us today, as we raise our eyes towards heaven praying God to do something for us, while others look to the ground avoiding the temerity of eyeing God face to face. Either way it is a testimony to the only being that we acknowledge universally as the keeper of all truths.

Science dissects nature to its most basic elements and is our only totally reliable source of truth on earth, The human propensity for distorting truth is what sets us apart from nature, the human mind having long ago discovered that lying is a simple and effective way of getting other people on side with our own self-centered designs.

In the normal course of our simple lives, perhaps Love may be equated with truth, since love by its nature is acceptance, and true love does not recognize untruths. Though truth, and lying, are thought of principally as human traits, can we not see in the kingdom of animals, the beauty of truth in the love of a loyal and faithful dog for its master?

From all of human history, specially the last seven thousand years where we can discern some semblance of civilization, only three Great Prophets have emerged, and each has attracted masses of adherents. Each of the Great Prophets has devoted all of his adult life to the glory of God, but there are three of them and, if we were to believe many of their leaders of today, we would conclude that each of them lived by the shadow of their own personal God. Could there logically be three Gods? The rules of nature and science profess that such a premise is nonsensical since God, as these Great Prophets and their resultant religions describe him, is Universally Omnipotent. There is only one Universe, how can there be more than one Universally Omnipotent God?

Each of these prophets have left us with a legacy of uplifting thoughts and guidelines for the soul, but the religious leaders that followed, while purporting to follow in their master’s footsteps have in fact created for their followers numerous dogma of their own, most of which are invisible in historical documents, nor are they ascribed to their prophet’s teachings. Did not Jesus despise wealth seeking? Did not Mohammad forbid violence among Muslims? The religious leaders of today are undermining their Great Prophets’ fundamental teachings by stirring the minds of their captive adherents to discriminate between God’s subjects, even within the confines of their own religion and as lies go, this is the most serious in our digest of Favorite Lies.

Communism as it was practiced in the communist states, and still practiced today in a limited few, comes in at a respectable second place in our determination of Greatest Favorite Lies. A popular oversimplification of a theoretical communist regime is the equal distribution of wealth and privileges among the citizens of a state. Unfortunately outside of religious monasteries and convents, this never did occur, and Communism was in fact and remains today nothing other than an oppressive military occupation of a state by a party whose principle members enjoyed the wealth and privileges of the state, while the common citizens shared equally in the resulting poverty.

An honorable mention Lie medal must be awarded posthumously to Adolf Hitler and his scoundrels, for their stated defensive action against Poland, whose malevolent intent was to invade Germany. Does the war in Iraq somehow come to mind at this point?

These are matters of history that do not occupy much place in our current mind frames and may in fact serve to dampen the severity of the current sins of truth omission, however tragic these might be. We are, however, in the throes of a rapid expansion in the use of untruths at the highest levels of human interaction, and, in no particularly order of preseance, we will dwell on some as follows. The worlds of politicizing and TV advertising however are of course beyond redemption and should be ignored for our purpose.

China is a militaristic oppressive one party dictatorship and so is Cuba. In their relations with the former, the US government grovels at their feet while otherwise unscrupulously punishing the people of Cuba for being the victims of a militaristic oppressive one party dictatorship. The obvious Big Lie here is the probability that the U.S. to this day is punishing Cuba for having had the temerity of repulsing the U.S. backed invasion of Cuba at the Bay of Pigs, 45 years ago.

Prior to the Presidential election of the year 2000, George W. Bush, assigned Dick Cheney the task of sifting through all the available and acceptable republican stalwarts, and present his choice for the post of Vice-Presidential candidate. With as much integrity as he could unearth he selected himself, a dour, introverted, sarcastic, egocentric with a heart problem, and on a mission of gathering wealth for himself and his friends the leaders of industry. The identity of his second choice was never revealed.

George W. Bush has a simmering hidden agenda, which was fomented in the halls of a covert University group to which he belonged, and whose aim is to perpetuate a wealth based aristocratic class of families, companies and individuals, and he believes that he and his family are central players in this insane comedy. His political programs are being insidiously achieved by favoring the powerful in all ways possible, and at every turn, every opportunity, he has proposed legislation and taken decision with that orientation as a constant. His positions on social security, taxation, immigration, and outsourcing, clearly reflect this intent. A flagrant social fraud and huge lie.

There is nothing like a war to have congress bolster military strength, and George W. Bush had to find one to satisfy the whinings of the hawkish neo-cons and the military establishment. Possibly or at least more than likely, the War in Iraq, the loss of military personnel, the killing of innocent civilians and their children, and a staggering economic burden, was initiated by George W. Bush, due to the U.S. military establishment’s craving for a stronger Defense Industry, and all other given and attributed reasons may be pure smoke screens and speculation. This is a giant among Favorite Lies.

Lastly, there is a benign though intriguing on-going deceit being perpetuated by the right oriented TV hosts and lesser politicians. We keep hearing from them that they hope Hillary Clinton will be chosen as the democratic candidate in the 2008 election because they know they can beat her easily. If I understand this premise correctly, would they have us believe that they are advising the Democratic Party to nominate a stronger candidate or risk losing the election?

How kind of them, but how insulting to the intelligence of the American electorate. The truth is, Republicans are traumatized beyond their senses by Hillary Clinton and they may end up having the same difficulty in finding a suitable and willing republican politician to run against her in 2008, as they are having in 2006 in the State of New York.
